About Deerfield
Deerfield was incorporated in 1766 after its residents petitioned the colonial governor, and it is a big town by New Hampshire standards: roughly 52 square miles carrying 4,855 people at the 2020 census. That works out at a lot of space per household.
Part of Pawtuckaway State Park and the Pawtuckaway Mountains sit along the eastern border, and Bear Brook State Park runs into the southwestern corner. The Deerfield Fair has been running here for generations and is one of the better known agricultural fairs in the state.
