About Stratham
Stratham was incorporated in 1716 and covers around 15 square miles of Rockingham County, bounded on the west by the Squamscott River and sitting close to Great Bay. The 2020 census recorded 7,669 residents.
It is better known commercially than its size suggests. Timberland has its headquarters here, and Lindt and Sprüngli run their only United States chocolate factory in town. Routes 33, 108 and 111 all pass through, with the Route 101 expressway crossing the southern end, which is what makes this a practical place to live and commute from.
Stratham Hill Park gives the town its high ground and a good deal of its character. The housing is predominantly residential on comfortable lots, which is a straightforward starting point for a garage. What makes Stratham different is the coastal weather, and that has real consequences for how a structure should be built.
