About North Hampton
North Hampton was first settled in 1639 and incorporated on 30 November 1742. It covers about 14 square miles on the Atlantic coast of Rockingham County, with 4,538 residents at the 2020 census.
Little Boar's Head, the seaside promontory at the eastern edge of town, became a fashionable summer resort in the nineteenth century, and the Victorian and Edwardian houses built for that trade are still there. Fuller Gardens, the formal estate garden open to visitors, dates from the same era of coastal money.
